Pathogens present risk
Viruses are microscopic infectious organisms that can cause widespread symptoms including respiratory, gastrointestinal and neurological. The presence of specific viruses including SARS-CoV-2, Influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) that transmit easily from human to human presents a risk to both individuals and to the normal function of services, identification within the atmosphere or on surfaces allows early intervention, careful monitoring of individuals who may have been exposed, and minimises disruption to services.
Our AerosolSense™ samples will be deployed to your premises for periodic sampling (ideally daily) followed by either the gold standard sensitive TaqPath PCR or thermo digital PCR solution. We aim for rapid turnaround of analysis and prompt reporting – action can be taken if Covid-19 is found to be present in the air, e.g. enhanced cleaning, staff screening. If the test is negative, you can be confident that there is no virus and in the air con and that the cleaning regimen has been effective.
We suggest a 2 to 8 hour sampling time for up to 2000 sq ft area, but will advise according to the site. Our assay shows high sensitivity (down to 1 viral particle in 10L of air) and 100% specificity when tested with TaqPath PCR. The design is intended for a wide variety of respiratory viruses and coming soon is the ability to detect SARS-COV-2, RSV and Flu A/B.
